TOI Maya Toolbox Installation

Introduction

The TOI Maya Toolbox is a collection of MEL scripts for Maya. It includes the "Bouwkunde renderfarm"-connector that allows students of the faculty of architecture to submit jobs to the renderfarm directly from Maya.

Currently we support: Windows (64-bit) and Mac OS.

Download the latest version of the BK Renderfarm connector from @Hok.

This article shows how to install the Toolbox on either a Windows or OS X platform.

Windows

When you've successfully downloaded the Toolbox installer for Windows, it's time to get cracking.

You have to close Maya before you can install the TOI Maya Toolbox. If you didn't, the installer will automatically tell you to do so.

Doubleclick the installer (.exe) to begin the installation.

It will automatically detect which versions of Maya are installed. If you have more than one version, it will ask you to choose.

It sets the installation location automatically. Don't change this! (it won't work)

You will be shown an overview of the installtion components. In this case there is only one component, so you can click Install to start the installation.

The installation is now complete. You can click Close to close the installer.

When you start Maya, you should see a Shelf labeled TOI which contains all the scripts packaged in the Toolbox.

Mac OS X

When you've successfully downloaded the Toolbox installer for Mac OS X, it's time to get cracking.

You must quit Maya before you can install the TOI Maya Toolbox. If you don't, the Toolbox will not be installed completely.

Click the installer (.pkg) to begin the installation.

Click Continue.

Specify for which version(s) of Maya you want to install the Toolbox. Click Continue.

You will be shown a confirmation of the installation type and the space required. Click Install to start the installation.

The installation is now complete. You can click Close to close the installer.

When you start Maya, you should see a Shelf labeled TOI which contains all the scripts packaged in the Toolbox.
