Mass modeling in Vasari
In Vasari you create buildings or other conceptual forms with masses. In the paragraphs down here will learn with which methods you can create masses and how you can edit them. Note: the way you create masses in Vasari is the same as you do it in Revit. In Revit you can make a in place mass family but also you can make a conceptual mass family.
Creating Masses
There are different methods to create masses, these methods are similar to the geometry you uses in family, But with masses there are some different steps to create those geometry because there is just one button, create mass. You have to draw some reverence lines and then click on the button create mass. In which way you draw the lines in relation with each other, Revit will now which kind of geometry you want to draw. The different geometry will explained below.
steps to create mass
- Click on create mass icon in the ribbon.
- Pick the workplane you want to draw on. This is the base.
- Draw with reference lines or model lines the desired things. You use model lines for lines that you want to use once, reference lines you can use multiple times to create masses of it.
- Select the lines with which you want to create masses from in hit the create form button.
- Now you have created the first mass.
- When you are done with creating the mass, press the finish button in the ribbon.

Edit Masses
If you draw masses the outcome is not always as you want. For that there are some tricks to have more control over the outcome of the shape.
